I hate that word. It is difficult to get on my nerves politically, not because I don't know or care, but because I'm just cynical when it comes to politics.
But I take censorship personally.
Freedom of speech is one of the basic tenets of American society, and for any free society in the world. Without the ability to vocalize dissent, opinions, or artistic or even nonsensical self-expression, freedom is a dead letter. I refuse to live in such a society. So should you.
Congress currently has two bills pending that will drastically censor the Internet. Both bills will censor any website that violates unbelievably vague copyright laws. This blog, and several others, could go down for perhaps having an infringing link or even bothering to review the movies I do. I won't allow this to pass.
Please sign this petition; it only takes a few seconds and it costs you nothing. Show Congress that you won't let censorship become a part of the Internet.
